A caved in area of the dry forest gives way to the tunnel system below. The tunnel through RippleClan is easy to follow, as it is a singular path instead of the tangled mess found in other areas.

Doespirit walks along the tunnel, sniffing the air as she scents the border of her clan, as well as no RippleClan cats who have strayed over the border. She looks back to Hootpaw, before deciding to quiz her. “What can you scent, Hootpaw?”

Hootpaw parted her jaws, letting the scents wash over her. "Uh...cats, mostly. I think that's a badger? Do they come down here often?"

ooc: So I just remembered that Bellflower is with them.

ic: Bellflower shifted nervously on her paws and flicked her tail. She shrunk backwards and sat down, glancing around.

Doespirit nods, her eyes narrowing as she sniffs the air, the scent of Badger coming towards her nose. “They do come down here, they often make their dens in tunnels. We will try and stay as far away from the Badger as possible and report back to Hauntstar, as there is not enough of us to take it down without one of us getting hurt. And I would prefer not to get you killed, Hootpaw.” She says, before sniffing the air.

Hootpaw's fur immediately fluffed up. "I-I would prefer not to be killed too," she squeaked.

Doespirit chuckled, smiling as she sniffs the air again, before looking at Hootpaw. “Which way do you think we should go by the scent of the badger then?” She asks, to check her apprentice’s knowledge.

"Away from it," Hootpaw replied quickly, shivering at the thought of getting into a fight with one of those beasts.

Bellflower perked her head up and nodded in agreement. "Away from it is probably the best option. I certainly don't want to die today," she meowed, flicking her fluffy tail nervously.

Hootpaw nodded, shivering still. "Is it getting colder, or is it just me?"

"It is. It was snowing before we left, maybe it's picked up into a worse storm." Bellflower looked towards the top of the tunnel.

Doespirit nodded in agreement as she looked towards where the badger is. “That’s probably why the badger is down here.” She says, before turning. “It’s best we stay away from all upper tunnels that meet the surface, because they will have a chance to collapse from the snow.”

Hootpaw's eyes widened. "Wait, we could be trapped down here? What would the other Clans say if we can't make it to the Gathering?!"

Bellflower gulped and peered around. "We should maybe try and walk in further, find somewhere warmer," she meowed. "But we should avoid the scent of the badger."

"Thank you, Bellflower." Doespirit nodded, before turning and walking down the tunnels towards where the Badger wasn't. She walked and looked around sniffing the air. "I believe we are right on the border now."

Hootpaw shivered at the chill winds blowing through. "It's so cold," she muttered to herself, tail fluffed.

Doespirit’s eyes turned towards Hootpaw, only noticing now how cold it is. “It’s too cold to be out for too long. Let’s quicken this up so we can head back to camp. Quickly mark the border.”

Hootpaw nodded and did as she was asked, then sneezed rather loudly.

Bellflower glanced back, nodding at the other two while she scented the air, relaxing only slightly when she didn't pick up on a too fresh scent of a badger. "There might be something warm up ahead. I can almost guarantee that the path to camp in blocked by snow," she mewed, mostly to herself.
