Underneath CrestClan territory is a single out-of-ordinary cavern. Unlike most of the other tunnels, which are lined with dirt and grey stones, this tunnel is full of fresh soil with a wall of crumbled, shiny black stones. A crack in the ceiling allows sunlight in, leaving the ground carpeted with plants and the tunnel full of burrowing tortoises, newts, salamanders, and snakes.

Fogberry padded into the lit tunnel, letting her eyes adjust for a moment to the brightness before stepping aside and letting Saffronpaw do the same. "As much as I don't like it, the sunlight is good for the plants," she mewed to her apprentice, padding over to the patch of tansy matting the floor.

Saffronpaw followed her mentor after a moment of hesitation, sighing lightly. "Is there something going on between you and Hauntstar, Fogberry? Something seemed off," she mewed timidly, flicking her ears back against her head.

Fogberry shook her head. "We haven't been seeing eye to eye recently," she mewed a little cautiously. "And she won't listen to my warnings." She shifted the more mature leaves to the side, checking the new growth at the centre of the plant.

"It seems like it's more than that," Saffronpaw pressed, padding over to a swath of cobwebs. Her tail flicked irritably behind her. She sighed, sticking her paw in and wrapping it in the stick webs. "Can't I know what's happened?"

Fogberry softened as she looked up. "I know you mean well, Saffronpaw, but you mustn't worry yourself too much. You can worry more when you're old like me," she nudged the apprentice with a gentle purr.
