mutations ; can hold breath for 7 minutes tops, can swim in bodies of water without catching bloodcough, and can eat large amounts of fish without catching bloodcough

flintpaw has sleek, short, dark grey fur. it's tipped with ginger on his underside. short hooked claws and a long flat tail, short-ish legs and smaller round ears are all things that flintpaw wears wonderfully. for his clan, he is generally considered tall. his build is very muscular, but it doesn't stop him from being quick underwater. a generally larger cat, he was bound to have larger webbed paws that he sometimes stumbles over clumsily because of his depth perception evaluation. he has a long scar on his right shoulder, and last but not least, large heterochromic cyan-amber eyes.

flintpaw is very broody as an early apprentice. he has little trust for his mentor and peers and seeks recognition from his leader for a sort of validation he lacked from his parents. he was angry most of the time and looked to be the best apprentice in combat without working hard. as he grows, he comes to learn that life in this apocalyptic world depends on teamwork and shoulders to lean on, and slowly his harsh demeanour lets up to uncover a more friendly, slight-of-temper one. as a warrior, he has grown to be more friendly and trustful, but of course, he still has his ways to go before he's perfect.

flintkit and gorsekit were born to two regular warriors. they were the second litter born to them, as the first (which consisted of ratpaw and nightkit [stillborn]) were already almost warriors. the kits grew up in a fairly normal life, but when flintkit was about 4 moons old, he realized he was having trouble figuring out if things were in front of him or further away. his parents took him to the medicine cat, who was very direct and told them that because his mother had depth perception problems caused by one eye in her family, that he did too. she also told them that it would be very hard for him to become an apprentice, because of this issue. luckily, it wasn't too serious and he only got confused when he was very stressed out. his bright blue eye was causing the problem, and it had trouble coming into focus when he got excited. it wasn't brought up much more until he became an apprentice. his mother died in a storm after a tree had crushed her, and his older sister rattail passed away after an infection from injuries in a border accident. he pushed away his grief too easily and ended up stunting the growth in his personality as a result.
