An old Twoleg path leads up the side of a short cliff and into a hollow cave behind a small waterfall where the roof is dotted with holes and cracks letting air and rain in. Sharp spikes of stone reach up from the floor and dangle precariously from the ceiling, and the sound of dripping water can be heard even through the waterfall’s noise. A series of deeper caves lead out into the main open area, with the largest near the path entrance housing the leader, deputies, and warriors. A smaller den beside is sheltered by an old, fallen spike is where the apprentices sleep, and the medicine den, elders den, and nursery are tucked in behind that, safe from all but the strongest of winds. The leader makes announcements from a ledge the cats have named the Skyledge, for the larger hole above it that lets in most of the sun, moon, and star-light.

Sleekstar yawned and stretched as the early morning light shone through one of the ceiling cracks and directly into his nest, blinking to clear his gaze and looking around as the other cats stirred around him. “Morning,” he purred warmly to them.

"Morning big brother!" chirped Morningrose, "How are you?"

Loftwing's ears pricked as he exited the cave, his fur still slightly messy. A fairly strong gust of wind caught him off guard as he started towards Sleekstar, and he grumbled.

Dreampoppy stretched out, parting her jaws in a yawn while her sightless eyes blinked open. She shifted her paws about briefly before pushing herself up, careful not to bump into any of the surrounding cats. "Good morning, Sleekstar," she purred at her brother, padding towards his scent and nuzzling his shoulder. "Look at you, a big strong leader now."

"Should I get you food? Was the walk to get your lives tiring? Where did you go? What happened?" Morningrose whispered, interrupting herself with questions.

Sleekstar rolled his eyes jokingly at his sisters. "You know I'm not allowed to say. But I am announcing the deputies soon." He flicked his tail. "For now, I want a border patrol and a hunting patrol."

"I can hunt!" Morningrose mewed, "I wonder how cold the water is now, we're getting pretty close to leafbare."

Dreampoppy flicked her tail, her ears flattening to her head. "I can lead a border patrol. I may be blind, but my nose is still great," she mewed, stepping over a sleeping warrior.

"Sleekstar, I am able to lead as well." Loftwing said, pacing forward and holding his head high. "Hunting or Border."

"Perfect. I'll announce the deputies at sunhigh, but for now, Loftwing, take the hunting patrol, and Dreampoppy the border." Sleekstar's tail flicked as he purred softly. "I'll join the hunting, I need to stretch my legs."

"Of course, Sleekstar!" Loftwing said cheerfully. "Anyone up for hunting?" He called to the waking warriors.

"I can hunt!" Morningrose mewed enthusiastically.

Otterpaw picks up her head from where she is lying in the sun and she softly speaks. "I could go if you want?" She says, looking at them, before she looks down, suddenly shy.

Oceankit looks out of the nursery, stumbling out as she looks at the warriors, before her eyes turn towards where the medicine den, wanting to see if they need help with anyone, however she decides against it. They probably don't want a kit running around under their paws. She looks over to Sleekstar, before walking over to them. "So your our leader now?!" She asks, happy.

Dreampoppy flicked her ears when she heard the small voice, turning in the direction of Otterpaw. "If you'd like, you can accompany me on the border patrol. We'll need a few more cats," she purred.

Lostblaze shifted in his nest, blinking open his eyes and standing up, parting his jaws in a wide yawn. "I'll hunt if you want, Loftwing," he mewed, voice thick with sleep.

Otterpaw nods happily, tail flicking. "Sounds fun! If that's fine with you, Loftwing?" She asks Loftwing.

"That would be great, you guys, thank you." Loftwing said. "We can probably go with just us, makes things a little less complicated." He chuckled.

Rainwhisker opened his eyes to watch his Clanmates rise around him. He had been laying awake in his nest for quiet some time now, but finding it difficult to fall back asleep. With a sigh, he gave up his efforts. He sat up in his nest and began to groom.

"I just need a few more cats for the border patrol." Dreampoppy turned her head in the direction of where she could scent Rainspots, her ears warming while she purred a little. Shaking her head, she turned back toward Loftwing.

Otterpaw waves her tail excitedly. "Maybe Rainspots or someone awake? Since I'm pretty sure some of the warriors get really grumpy in the morning."

Loftwing turned towards Dreampoppy. "I'm sure if nobody volunteers to go on border patrol we can go in the den together and wake them up ourselves, but in a way they won't like." He joked.

Sleekstar snorted. "Don't do that. The poor medicine cats will have my head." He flicked his tail as he looked back at the warriors' den. "Come on, lazy bones. Up and at 'em." 
Rainspots groaned jokingly, stretching and tossing a bit of moss at Dreampoppy's head. "I'll go on the border patrol. But there better be some fish by the time we get back," he purred as he walked over.

"She's not going to be catching any prey, I am." Morningrose mewed, intruding on the conversation.

Rainspots's tail flicked. "I'm aware, Morningrose. Catch a trout for me?" He purred.

Dreampoppy snorted in amusement and flicked her tail over Rainspots shoulder, her whiskers twitching while she stretched out. "I'm sure there'll be plenty of trout, Rainspots," she mewed.

"Does anyone want to go hunting with me?" Morningrose called.

"I can?" Archpaw padded out of her den, stretching. "I need to do something before I murder Fidgetpaw."

"Okay!" Morningrose chirped, "Anyone else?"

Sleekstar glanced over. "Rainwhisker? Would you like to go hunting?"

Rainwhisker looked up at the sound of his name. "I could go," he agreed and padded across the den to join the patrol.

"Before you what?" Fidgetpaw said sleepily, walking over to Archpaw while trying not to collapse onto the ground and go back to sleep, he was so tired. 

"Are we going to go hunting yet? If we go now we might be able to get the prey while they try to wake up." Loftwing called, hopping from paw to paw.

Rainspots licked Dreampoppy's ear. "Should we go?"

Dreampoppy's ears heated up and she nodded, almost too quickly. "We should, yeah." She turned in the direction of Sleekstar. "Which border should have the most attention?"

Brightsong pushes her way out of the den, her calico tabby pelt not keeping out the chill in the air, as it has yet to thicken for the winter. She limps towards Loftwing. "Where am I needed?"

"I'm leading a hunting patrol." Loftwing said and nodded towards his group. "Unless your limp is bad, then you should go on the border patrol with Dreampoppy." He explained brightly. "But if the limp is bad bad, then maybe you should go see the medicine cats."

Brightsong shakes her head. "Its an old injury, it doesn't hurt anymore." She says, before speaking. "My fighting skills aren't great, i'd be better on the hunting patrol."

"You sure? I trust that you can walk silently but I want to make sure you don't get hurt on the way." Loftwing said. "It's alright if you can't."

Brightsong laughs. "I am fine Loftwing." She says, rolling her eyes. "It happened moons ago." She says.

"If you say so." Loftwing smiled. "I think we should be good, Dreampoppy you need anyone else in your patrol?" He asked.

Brightsong steps towards the prey pile, her stomach rumbling as she takes a small fish and lies down, starting to eat it.

Dreampoppy lifted her head, shaking it after a moment. "It doesn't take many cats to check a border," she mewed playfully, flicking her ear and brushing against Rainspots as she padded out.

Sleekstar watched Dreampoppy leave, snorting softly, then turned back to Loftwing. "I'll head out and meet you there?"

Rainspots purred and followed Dreampoppy, his tail waving.

Covewhisper busied himself with taking out the old, rotted herbs, pausing when he noticed other cats emerging. He shook his head, waving his tail and dropping a mouthful of old herbs. Where is Lynxpaw? She should be awake already. He snorted, shaking his head again.

Loftwing nodded. "See you soon, Sleekstar." He said respectively. He turned to his patrol.
"Hunting patrol, we're heading out!"

Sleekstar dipped his head, and padded out in the direction of the Green Lakes.

Brightsong nodded and walked towards the entrance of camp, with the hunting patrol.

Morningrose trotted after Brightsong, excited to go fishing with her Clanmates.

Wolfpaw sat with Sunrisekit, watching her sprint about in circles around him. He flattened his ears, sighing and nudging the kit with his front paw. "Calm down. Your dad will be back from hunting in a bit," he mewed, sleep making his voice sound thick.

"I knoooow, but I still miss him!" Sunrisekit huffed, her fur bristling while she padded in a circle. She whirled to face her father when he emerged from the warrior's den. "Bring me back a fish, dad!" 

Lostblaze looked over at his daughter and purred, nodding once before padding out after Loftwing, ginger tail waving behind him. 

Silversplash sat with her father, the tom grumbling about how Sleekstar wasn't prepared for the responsibilities of being leader. She rolled her eyes, licking her silver paw and rasping it across her ear. "Whether or not he is, we'll see." She answered evenly, receiving a grunt of irritation from Oakfur before he padded off. She simply rolled her eyes once more, watching how her sister, Bluemoon, darted out to crash into their father. "Idiot," she muttered.

Oceankit looked around, her eyes wide, before sighing and standing, walking towards the medicine dem. Perhaps they might need my help? She thought, before she poked her head into the den. “Hello?”

Covewhisper glanced up sharply upon hearing the kit. He peered down at her, flicking one of his brown ears. "Hello, Oceankit. Was there something you needed?" He mewed, tilting his head.
