Name Meaning

Wasp - noun a social winged insect which has a narrow waist and a sting and is typically yellow with black stripes. it constructs a paper nest from wood pulp and raises the larvae on a diet of insects.

Her mother gave her this name because of her gold and black pelt.

Light - verb make (something) start burning; ignite.

Her mentor gave her this name for her dreamer's personality, and for the light in her that never went out.

Appearance

Wasplight, like lots of her Clan, has shorter legs, webbed paws and hooked claws. Unlike a lot of her Clan, she's thin and has shorter fur.
She's an orange and black tabby cat - black stripes of fur line her golden pelt, standing out against her white chin and throat. Areas around her back and face are dotted with brown, and her eyes are pale green. Her back right leg is scarred, and she limps on it.

Personality

Wasplight is a very stubborn and fiery cat. She doesn't hesitate to state her opinion, and this sometimes can get her in some trouble. Even though she's a medicine cat, she doesn't particularly like StarClan, still holding a grudge against them because of her bad leg (even if it wasn't their fault). While at first she hated being a medicine cat, she's come to accept it and, even if she won't admit it, enjoys taking care of her Clan. Outwardly, she just says she likes bossing them around - which is still true. Wasplight does respect her leader and deputy, even if she can't hold her tongue around them.

History

Kithood
Waspkit was born with a stillborn brother, Purplekit. When she was growing up, she didn't have many other kits to play with, so she mostly just tried to hang out with the apprentices in the Clan.
Apprenticehood
Wasppaw was given Lochbird, a female warrior as a mentor. However, only half a moon into her apprenticehood, she was dared to climb a very tall. It went wrong, and she fell onto her back right leg. She was brought back to the medicine den and soon found out there was no chance she'd be able to become a warrior - her leg was too mangled. So, once her leg had healed enough, she was given the choice to become a medicine apprentice. She decided to take it, and she was apprenticed to Darktuft.
Medicine Apprenticehood
At first, Wasppaw was angry she couldn't be a warrior. She was nearly always distracted when Darktuft tried to teach her herbs, and the pair often argued. That was until a cat nearly drowned, and she watched Darktuft save him. After that, she realised that there were other ways to help her Clan, and instead of using her teeth and claws she could use her mind and paws. Eventually, Wasppaw was given her medicine name - Wasplight. Moons later, Darktuft retired, and Wasplight took over full medicine cat duties.
