Haven is a gorgeous dappled tortoiseshell she-cat, her fur ranging in tones from deep black to pale ginger. She only has a few speckles of white, one of which is on her lower lip, and her eyes are a brilliant green. Like most of her Clan, Haven has large ears, wide paws, and strong claws made for digging.

Strong-willed but filled with love and kindness, Havenlight is the type of cat that everyone goes to for advice when they can't seem to make things right. Though she has experienced much loss she isn't afraid to fight for what is right, but her stubbornness to do the right thing means she doesn't always do the thing that is considered acceptable.

Havenkit was born as the sole kit of a pair of young warriors, Dappleblossom who had only earned her name six moons ago, and Nightshard, who loved his mate and daughter dearly. Dappleblossom wasn't the strongest of she-cats, often being sickly throughout her daughter's kithood, and one morning the queen simply didn't wake up. Nightshard was saddened, but opted to invest his time and energy into his kit, to make her the warrior that her mother deserved. Nightshard and Havenpaw were close throughout her apprenticeship but his slightly overbearing kindness made it hard for her to find alone time, so she often took walks during the night. One evening she strayed out into the lands above her Clan's territory, and was ambushed by a night hunting tom from RushClan. Hazelwind didn't hurt her, however, and simply let her go back to her own territory, which soon became a regular occurrence between the two, right into Havenpaw's warrior ceremony, where she earned the name Havenlight, much to her father's approval. Havenlight continued to visit her friend from RushClan, the pair acting like they'd never seen each other before at the Gatherings, and Havenlight learnt that she was expecting his kits. The pair were delighted, unaware of the ill-fated, short life that a lot of half-Clan cats lived, but their happiness attracted another warrior to their hidden spot. Havenlight fled quickly, leaving Hazelwind to deal with the situation, only to find out that news spread quickly throughout her Clan. The guilt in her heart only grew as one of the younger warriors, a cruel tom named Gravelclaw, boasted about injuring a RushClan tom that was lurking on their borders. Heartbroken at the news of her mate's death, Havenlight went into labour early, her kits too young to survive, and buried them near the border with their father's Clan. 

A quarter moon later, a queen named Morningash died of bloodcough and Havenlight, with her milk still running, fostered the tiny tom cat named Ashkit. Much to her disproval Ashkit's father happened to be Gravelclaw, and the tom was insistent on terrorising his son on the dangers of other Clans. Havenlight tried to keep the kit more sheltered, telling him stories of cats in the skies and before the Sunfall, but much to her annoyance, Gravelclaw continued to scare the kit. He grew into an apprentice and Havenlight thought she would be done with Ashpaw's father, but his anger at her trying to 'steal' his son away from him soon grew to breaking point. Gravelclaw's body was found the next day, the slashes in his throat too fine to be a fox's but reeking of the stench anyway, and Havenlight finally felt at peace.
