Fogberry yawned a little as she looked through the herbs, mumbling softly to herself.

Saffronpaw glanced up as her stomach rumbled, letting out an irritated growl. She groaned and rolled onto her back. "Have the hunting patrols even left? I'm starving." She whined out the complaint.

Thornkit peaked his head out of a hole in the rocks, stuck his tongue out at Pinekit, then slipped back into the rocks. "Can't catch me!" he taunted.

"Saffronpaw," Hauntstar mewed, trotting towards the medicine cat apprentice, "How's training going?"

Saffronpaw tensed and scrambled to her paws, twitching her ears nervously. "It's going fine! I think Fogberry would comment on my love for sleep though," she mewed, flicking her fluffy tail against the ground.

"Right here." Fogberry poked her head out of the herb store with a purr, a leaf of thyme still stuck on the end of her nose. "What seems to be the trouble?"

Thornkit stuck his head out of his hiding spot, unbalanced himself, and tumbled onto the rocks below with a wail.

Ashfall slunk out of his den and towards the nursery to check on Gentlewisp.

Lupinfrost stretched and yawned, surprised he hadn't been woken earlier, trotting out into the clearing and feeling the cold gust of what could only be snow above them. I wonder if the Gathering will be on tonight, he thought to himself, picking out one of last night's prey and taking it to eat.

Fogberry's whiskers twitched. "Well, we're mostly sorted for leafbare," she looked behind her, then back at the leader.

Gentlewisp glanced up when she scented her mate, warming at the sight of him. She rose from her place curled around their kits, moving closer and licking his cheek. "Good morning," she purred.

Saffronpaw glanced into the herb storage herself and nodded. "Still might be a good idea to see if we can find extra of anything," she mewed, glancing at Fogberry to see if she was right in her assumption.

Fogberry nodded. "First snows always bring whitecough," she said, half to herself and diving back into the depths of the store.

Orchidstem yawned, tucking her tail tighter around her kits as she felt a chill breeze sweep through the nursery, shivering.

Whispkit mewed and put her paw on Orchidstem's side. "Can I go outside?" she mewed, "I want to see what snow's like!"

"Good morning my starnose," Ashfall purred, brushing against her, "How are the kits?"

Hauntstar looked up at the flakes of snow drifting through the holes in the ceiling and blinked with contentment.

Gentlewisp beamed in her pride, resting her striped tail across their kits with a loving purr. "Yeah they do."

Tawnykit peered at the other kits herself, wrinkling her nose in disgust and trotting to her own nest, plopping onto it.

Whispkit trotted out of the den, her little legs wobbling. Thornkit dashed past her into the nursery and sat down in her nest, shivering in pain from the bruise on her shoulder.

Ashfall bent to sniff the kittens, letting out a purr.

Fogberry's ears pricked as she heard the wind whistling over the gaps above their heads, peeking out into the camp only to sneeze as a snowflake landed on her nose. "Pearldapple? Saffronpaw?"

"Right here, Fogberry," Saffronpaw mewed and rose to her paws, shaking off some snowflakes that had landed on her fur. She padded over to the medicine cat. "Why does it have to be snowing?"

"It's leaf-bare. Snow is rain that's frozen, basically, so that means it must be cold enough for RippleClan's rivers to freeze." Fogberry flicked her tail.

"Are you comfy cooped up in the nursery?" Ashfall mewed, pressing his fluffy face into Gentlewisp's chest.

Whispkit looked bright eyes at the enormous walls and streams of light surrounding their camp.

Tempestpaw listened in from where she laid in a small patch of sun. She frowned and flattened her ears, opting to ignore the conversation, looking instead towards her brother, Palepaw, who was glaring at the snow.

Palepaw looked away from the snow toward his mentor, flicking his tail. "Sure," he mewed, and let out an irritated huff when Tempestpaw bounded over, asking if she could join. He glowered at his sister.

Tempestpaw stuck around despite her brother's obvious dislike of it, puffing out her chest and flicking her striped tail.
Palepaw simply nodded to his mentor, giving up in his efforts to glare at his sister until she disappeared.
